Celebrity Judge to Speak at 2017 Commencement

Their excitement has been brought to an even higher level now that it has been announced that national celebrity judge, the Honorable Greg Mathis, will serve as the keynote speaker at this year’s ceremony on May 13, 2017.

He is also known for his humanitarian efforts with his non-profit agency, Young Adults Asserting Themselves (Y.A.A.T.), an agency that provides career, business start-up and job opportunities, as well as job training and college enrollment assistance to youths. With Mathis’s national celebrity and many noteworthy accomplishments, graduates and attendees are sure to be inspired by his keynote address.

Concordia’s commencement ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. on May 13th一道本不卡免费高清 in the college’s Julius and Mary Jenkins Center gymnasium, where an expected 64 students will receive diplomas in the areas of Education, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Social & Behavioral Sciences, General Studies and Nursing.

Several special awards will also be presented during the ceremony, including an Honorary Doctor of Laws awarded to Judge Mathis, and an Honorary Doctor of Letters to be awarded to Mr. Mark Edward Stevens. Additionally, the Concordia class of 1967 (previously called Alabama Lutheran Academy and College) will be recognized for reaching their fiftieth year milestone. The college will also continue its annual Presidential Scholars of the Future program, a tradition of honoring local elementary and high school students in grades 6-12 who have demonstrated academic excellence for the 2016-2017 academic year.
